The First Pisan Republic and the sough-after village “Vicopisano”
A tour of Pisa that introduces unknown parts of the city even to the Pisani themselves and shows the architectural beauties of this ancient seafaring republic bathed by the decanted the waters of the Arno River.
After the visit we move on the medieval village of Vicopisano . The Brunelleschi’s tower, a masterpiece of engineering built around 1330 to fortify the castle, dominates the entire plain of Vicopisano; from there you can admire an endless landscape . But the beauties of this little village do not end here!
At an ancient olive stone mill, still in use, we will taste the traditional bruschetta with olive oil from the Pisan Mountains and other local products.
